Interim Response

I receive an email from Sen. Rubio entitled "Interim Response," dated July 15, 2013 at 9:31 PM, saying that he received my correspondence. I didn’t mail him anything. I did reply to his Interim Response. A copy is pasted in below, which I emailed this morning, July 16, 2013:

I received an email message from you saying that you've received my correspondence and to look for your response in the near future. One problem: I didn't mail you anything. For that matter, up until this email, I haven't emailed you anything, either. However, I did email each Florida State Senator with some concerns. If one of the state senators or their office forwarded the information that I sent to them to you, then please look at it. If some group purporting to represent me mailed you something on "my behalf," then please disregard it. Thank you.

I also called Senator Rubio’s office this morning, July 16, a little after 9:00 am. I spoke to a Sarah.  I told her that I didn’t send any message to Rubio yesterday, but recently I did send messages to state senators. She said that she receives all the emails there at the Senator’s Florida office.About 10:25 am this morning, I sent another email to Senator Rubio requesting a copy of whatever was sent yesterday:

When I checked my email this morning, July 16, I had received an "Interim Response" from Senator Rubio, dated July 15, 2013 at 9:31 PM. I never sent any correspondence or email to Senator Rubio yesterday. I did send him an email this morning advising him of that. Around 9:00 am this morning, I phoned the number provided in Senator Rubio's email and spoke to a Sarah. I advised her that I didn't send any message yesterday, but I did send one this morning and read her the message that I sent this morning. Sarah said that she's the one that receives the emails here in Florida.

I'm requesting that you send me or forward me a copy of the correspondence or message that I supposed sent to you yesterday, July 15, sometime around 9:31 PM. Thank you.

Florida Senate

Some one recently asked, “-why haven’t they gotten you yet?” That’s a good question, but more apropos: “Why haven’t they arrested you yet?” They don’t want to hurt my feelings? I filed a number of reports against individual law enforcement officers, and public officials charging them with specific crimes. Incidentally, the cops arrest you for filing false reports. So why haven’t “they” arrested me yet? At any rate, earlier this week I had the privilege of meeting with President of the Florida Senate Don Gaetz and requested that the Florida Senate investigate my charges and allow me to testify before them regarding illegal electronic surveillance and unaccountability by Florida law enforcement. If allowed to testify, I’ll answer the question why the police haven’t arrested me yet for filing “false reports.”

Eyes On Privacy

This morning I emailed my Lawless America Congressional Testimony video in response to an opinion piece entitled "Eyes On Privacy" to "letters" at the Panama City News Herald with the message:

This past Tuesday,I emailed the following message to the Sheriff:

I emailed a Florida Public Records Request to your office, which Jeana Prescott (prescottj@holmescosheriff.org via eigbox.net) acknowledged on Jan. 26, 2013. I agreed to pay the actual cost of duplication of the documents and requested a written estimation of any additional expenses. I requested that these records be available by February 4, 2012. To date, you have neither supplied the requested information nor advised me why my public records request is being denied (Chapter 119 requires you advise me in writing and indicate the applicable exemption to the Public Records Act). Do you intend to supply the public records requested as required by law or not? Thank you.

February 13, 2013- Cop & ACLU

I gave some homeless person a few bucks this morning around 8:00 a.m. at the Lowe's in Dothan, AL, because he said that he was hungry. When I left the store with my purchase, a Dothan police squad car (black and white) was parked close to me. As I prepared to leave the parking lot, the cop went into the store. I don't want any problems from giving some homeless person a buck or two for something to eat. Someone called up later in the morning purporting to be from the ACLU and said that they were monitoring my call (usually, they just ask for a donation sans monitoring). Monitoring? Is that anything like recording?  So I hung up. Whoever it was called me. I didn't call them. I will talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime, but it has to be transparent (and I'll be recording, too)and they have to be able to do something to resolve this matter.

Secret Service

Bill Windsor of Lawless America photographed two Secret Service agents that were hiding in the back row in the theater at the Capitol where he and others spoke. Bill went up there,photographed them, handed them his business card and invited them to join the rest of the audience. Hmmm, I wonder what they were doing there? After a few drinks stumbled into the room looking for hookers? No, can't be. From what I've read, they order in- and don't tip very well, either.

Misquoted

The Holmes County Times-Advertiser, Feb. 6, 2013, misquoted me. On page A2, they wrote: "I would like to improve the support of he freedom on unwarranted surveillance act," Kegan said. "It is a bill to protect the individual privacy against unwarranted government intrusion through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles commonly called drones, and for other purposes."

Considering the meeting was filmed and recorded, I'm surprised that they misquoted. I was going to give the reporter a copy of what I read, but I felt that it would be unnecessary. I was wrong. I emailed the paper this morning requesting that they correct the misquote and print what I actually read to the Congressional Delegation meeting. My email follows:

You misquoted me. This is what I read at the Congressional Delegation meeting:

Hello. My name is Joe Keegan and I live in Bonifay. North Bonifay. In the 2013 Legislative Session, I’d like to encourage you to support The “Freedom of Unwarranted Surveillance Act.” SB 92 is sponsored by Senator Joe Negron and would prohibit any law enforcement agency from using unmanned drones to gather evidence or other information with the exception of countering a high risk of a terrorist attack. SB 92 also prohibits the use of any evidence to be used in a court of law in violation of this law. Representative Mitch Workman  has filed an identical bill (HB 119) in the House. HB 119 is still waiting for Committee assignments.

It’s an important and necessary bill not only to insure the right of Florida citizens to be left alone, but also to prevent any “Law enforcement agency” from  going  on “fishing trips” for any code or regulatory violations that they can find to meet any revenue shortfalls.  It’s going to be very tempting for towns and cities with budgetary problems to do this in order to raise revenue. However, the only thing that this would accomplish is to anger and inconvenience a lot of people in an already difficult economy.  The boys and girls have the hi-tech toys and they will abuse them. I’ve provided you with a transcript of a brief video that I sent to you earlier regarding such abuse. I hope that you got the chance to view it. Thank you for your time.
